What will the “new “normal” in nightlife look like during and after Covid-19?
There has been a lot of talk and speculation about what the nightlife scene will look like when our phase to reopen is approved. Specifically, what will it be like to attend a bar or a nightclub with social distancing put in place? It appears both will be heavily effected and one more than the other.
Imagine if the protocols we have been hearing are put in place and applied to both types of venues. Assume that patrons will be advised to stay at least six feet apart and masks will be worn by staff and maybe the guests as well. Six feet may work in a bar as you go out to catch up with your friends but will anyone want to attend a night club that does not have a busy and high energy dancefloor?
It is sad to think about a “new normal” where we can not or are fearful of socializing with strangers. After all, isn’t that the point when going out most weekends? But…let’s be honest. The younger crowd who will be frequenting bars and nightclubs will hardly be able to resist being in close proximity to their friends or attractive members of the opposite sex. As the drinks flow and the DJ works his magic, those imaginary six feet bubbles will quickly burst. We, as a company, vow to do our best to keep everyone safe and having a good time.
There are a lot of “unknowns” heading into the “new normal”. We sincerely hope the “new normal” can go back to the “old normal” before too long.
